Charles Dancy Update Tuesday

Mr Dancy was already awake upon arrival this morning. Upon entering the room he spoke and immediately began to talk about a family member by the name of chip. He asked to set up the phone system so that he would be able to speak with chip. He then prepared for his shower and ate breakfast, afterwards he participated in a card game and was really into this game in which he continued nonstop for one hour and fifteen minutes. He constantly asked questions while playing the game showing a lot of interest. I asked him several times to go for a walk for exercise and he stated that he did not want to walk this morning that he wanted to continue with the game that was all the exercise that he needed today. Around noon he decided to take a break and rest a while. Later he went to his room for range of motion exercises on both arms and legs in which he participated for about 30 minutes. He later ate lunch and i offered to take him for a afternoon walk and he decline stating that he ate to much and was too full to walk. He decided that he wanted to just rest and chill for the rest of the day. He was very alert and conversated with me a lot today. He told me that he he moved here a while ago from the east coast to the west coast to live with Barbara and Paul calling there names and told me that he moved here from Winston Salem North Carolina. He moved around well today and stayed awake the majority of the day. He had a wonderful day.

Lois - I really appreciate your making these notes! It's wonderful to be able to follow Dad's daily routine. It may sound boring, but it makes me feel a little bit closer to him knowing his ups and downs on a day to day basis. It's really good to see that he has these good days when his memory is much sharper. While I do think that moving around is healthy - I understand that he may not always want to exert himself. (I know I feel that way sometimes, too!)

By the way, in case you were wondering Chip is the eldest son in our family.

Cheers,

Justine

Hi, Lois -
Actually, it is very easy to upload an image (or a video for that matter). As long as the image is on the computer you are using, there is a button to 'insert image' in the row just above where you normally write text. Using this button will bring up a box where you point to the location of the image in your computer's directory. Sometimes you may need to adjust the size of the image if it is too big or too small. You can always go back to edit an entry, even after its posted if you need to.
