Hi, Mr Dancy had a nice quite day,he slept very well last night and was up this morning at 7:30,he had a good shower and breakfast. We went for a walk before lunch and later took another walk.Mr Dancys' activities are...
walking,conversation.listening to music,today we listened to Sinatra,Bennett,Davis,and Mathis he seemed to enjoy
music from that time period.(the fifties and sixties).We also looked at family photos,he always enjoys doing the

Hi, I picked Mr Dancy up from senior services at 4:02,We returned to Mr Dancys' home around 4:30.I picked his
meal up at salem dining hall,he had supper around 5:20,he only ate 50% of his meal,so i gave him a boost drink and
he finished it,he also drank lots of water.We went for a short walk and later Mr Dancy watched some tv.He had all
his meals and medications and is doing fine.Ilene Simmons

Dad's Weekend

Dad and I went to the K&W Cafeteria on Sunday. We had to stand in line a long time but I enjoyed watching the people. Dad had turkey, dressing, rice and salad. I had the roast beef, broccoli, rice and salad.

Then we went to my house so I could clean up a bit and Dad watched some golf. Then we went home and had some leftovers from the dining hall along with a chicken egg roll that I brought over.

Jennie called on Sunday to make sure she had all the information she needed for Dad's tax return.

Easter Weekend

Dad and I went to the Easter Mass on Sunday. The whole church was full! But by the end the seating at the back was more roomy!

We went to Jason and Ashley's house and Grandpa gave Collin an Easter Basket. Then I went outside with Collin and helped him find the boiled eggs. Then I hid the plastic ones and he had fun finding them. Collin's other grandfather Irwin hid some candy as well, a lot around Jason't car!

Then Ashley and her sister Jennifer prepared a brunch with Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, a variety of muffins, sausage gravy, fried potatoes, Monkey bread, French toast casserole, fresh pineapple and strawberries! Dad wasn't eating much, but just let him sit and he finally finished the whole plate!

We then went home and had some food from the dining hall: lamb, sqaush, green beans, Mashed potatoes. Dad picked at his food, but when we went back to his house he had some mixed nuts and chocolate.

Dad's Weekend

It was a fairly quiet weekend. I worked on the jigsaw puzzle while Dad watched the basketball.

On Sunday we went over to my house. Dad did not eat too well on Sunday though he did try everything, just didn't eat very much. He did manage to finish the ice cream in the evening though.

At the dining hall on Sunday a man came over and talked about his service in the merchant marines in WWII and asked about the size of the Destroyers that Dad served on. Dad didn't say much but he obviously enjoyed the conversation.

Hi, Mr Dancy had a nice quiet day,we went for a walk early this morning.Last night was not the best night for Mr
Dancy,he was up at 3:am 4:am and 5:am,i took him to the bathroom each time and changed his brief and pajamas.
He said that he didnt know what time to get up for breakfast,i explained to him that it was too early for breakfast
and i would let him know the breakfast time.He went back to bed around 5:30 and slept until 7:45.The nurse came
by this afternoon to give Mr Dancy his b-12 shot.she said that he was doing fine,he had a good blood pressure 122/70.
He says he is feeling much better.His activities for the day are..walking,listening to music,watching tv,conversation

Dad Weak Today

Dad has been in bed all day. Every time I try to help him up he just falls back into bed. He is hurting but I don't know what exactly.

He didn't eat dinner, just some pecan pie and nothing today, just water.

I left a message for Dr. Lichstein. Also the nurse did not come last week--I thought she was scheduled to come. I called the Bayada nurses and Barbara was going to call Theresa and find out what is going on.

Ilene should be here. She can monitor him tonight and see if he improves. I also asked Suzie to drop by after work if she is up to it.

Drive with Dad

I drove down to see Jason's new house with Dad (about 60 miles). Jason wasn't home--out getting his TV screen fixed. One of the remote controls for the Wii system got thrown at the screen and tore it a bit. I guess those games can get violent! It is nicely sodded in the front with straw in the back that will hopefully grow grass really soon. Inside it is airy and nice with a small bedroom next to front door that will be used for computer room. There is a nice master bath with a very large tub! Not sure if it is a hot tub or not. The toilets are lower than Dad's though, so he was surprised when he started to sit down. I was too!

When we got back Dad was too tired to get up and eat dinner. He barely ate 1/2 of a pecan pie. I hope he is okay. Maybe he is coming down with flu or just tired, not sure.

I hope the ride did not tire him; I thought he would enjoy the change of scenery. Oh well.

Dad Talks About Mom

Dad wanted to know where Mom was. He had just talked to her yesterday! Anyway it was a difficult conversation, because he kept getting his words mixed up but anyway after a while he went back to the couch and said how "embarrassed" he felt that he had forgotten Mom had died!

Dad seemed a little depressed and I was really tired from helping Jason and Ashley pack, so I didn't get Dad off to bed like I should have. He spent the night in the chair. I woke up at 4 am and was more energized to get Dad ready for bed. Then I went back to bed as well and he and I both slept soundly for 4 hours.

I am making fried eggs and bacon this morning for a change from cereal. I like to do that once a week.

Dad woke up in the middle of the night. He came in my room. He decided to sit in the chair for a while. When I woke up this morning he was back in bed.

Watched out the kitchen window, as it snowed all day without accumalation.He has been resting at night and

HI ,I took Mr Dancy To the dining hall for cheese and wine at 5:pmhe had a nic e time.his menu was cheese ,wine

Hi, Mr Dancy rested last night very well,only getting up once to use the bathroom and then back to bed.He was up this morning around 7:35.After washing up he had a good breakfast.Later in the morning we went for our daily

Dad's Weekend

Dad had a nice weekend.

Bettie watched Dad on Saturday so I could go to exercise class. When I got back home Dad was already asleep at 8 p.m.

On Sunday we went to church. Afterwards we had the buffet at the dining hall. Dad was mad when I suggested he eat his dessert. So I decided it was time to leave. We spent the afternoon watching football and playing miniature bowling with Collin at my house. Then a pizza dinner and cake for dessert.

Dad got up about two in the morning and came to my room. He talked about something and finally went back to bed.

Today Dad goes to Dr. Southard, dermatologist to check his skin for pre-cancerous growths. Then to Senior Services for the day.

Hi, Mr Dancy enjoyed watching it snow this morning,he sat by the kitchen window after breakfast to watch.The nurse came to visit Mr Dancy,she gave him his b-12 shot and took his blood pressure.130/70 a good blood pressure.
Mr Dancy was up several times last night,he was confused about the time,i explained to him that it was in the am,he
stated that he should be in bed,after the second time getting up he wanted to go to the bathroom afterwards he went
back to sleep the rest of the morning until 7:30 am.We worked some on the puzzle and played the key board.Mr Dancy had all of his meals and medications. A good day.Ilene Simmons

Jason and Ashley and Collin Visit Dad

Jason, Ashley and Collin stayed over the weekend at my house. Dad came over on Saturday and he and I watched Collin while Jason and Ashley went to get the wedding rings.

Collin kept running around the sofa where Dad was sitting (Dad was enjoying the Imaginary Friends on the Cartoon Channel), so finally when he climbed over Dad, he grabbed him and started tickling Collin. Collin got off and proclamed that "he was ticklish". Anyway he later "poked" Dad in the face and Dad lifted his legs and tripped Collin. Collin and Dad seemed to enjoy it!

On Sunday my friend Ann watched Dad. Dad explained how he was trying to keep the Red Chritmas plant alive until Valentines Day. (a challenge sometimes).

Dad woke up early and took off his wet clothes and sat in the chair. The night before he had taken off his briefs and replaced them with two pairs of boxer shorts.

Hi,Mr Dancy is feeling much better,i prepared him some stewed prunes for constipation I didnt know if he would like
them but he did and they helped him with the constipation.I noticed that late at night when the furnace came on he
would cough a lot.so i called the maintenance man and he came and changed the filters,they looked as though they had not been changed in awhile.I know he will rest better.He had all of his meals and medications.We went for a

Hi, Mr Dancy seems to be feeling much better,I encouraged him to drink plenty of fluids and to eat all of his meals.

Hi,Mr Dancy has a cold,Cathy gave me permission to give him cough lozengers and mucinex,he seems to be doing
fine.I prepared chicken soup, gave him plenty of fluids.Its very cold here today so, i didnt take him out.He had all his

Dad's Weekend

Dad woke me up about 2 am Saturday morning. He was chomping on nuts [He stood at my doorway until I woke up. In my dreams I thought it was the vacuum cleaner]. He wanted to talk about something, but I convinced him to wait until the morning. He spent the rest of the night in the easy chair with the afghan covering him completely (face included).

We went to church on Sunday. Dad was able to walk down the aisle just holding my arm and his cane. As we were leaving he was able to maneuver up the aisle by himself.

Today Dad went to the podiatrist to have his toes trimmed. Sometimes, when the doctor touches his big toes he starts to cry out, then he begins to laugh a bit. Not sure if it hurts or just scares him or both. The podiatrist told Dad to just relax his feet, but Dad keeps wanted to wiggle his feet a little.

We then went to Senior Services for the day. They made gingerbread cookies; he brought back a couple. When we left Dad wanted to make sure that all the ladies who were still there (about three) were "taken care of".

Hi, Mr Dancy had all of his meals and medicatios for the day.It was a very nice day so we took a
walk this morning and in the afternoon. Mr Dancy was up several times last night,i took him to
the bathroom and later gave him something to drink,he seemed fine and was agreeable to going
back to bed where he rested until 7:30 am. he didnt want to participate in any games however
i pulled them out anyway.sometimes he is receptive and sometimes he does not want to engage

Hi, I got to the Dancy home at 4:pm. Mr Dancy arrived at 4:30. He said he had a good christmas, he was quite most of the evening. I picked his supper up and he ate all of it and took
his evening meds. He slept in the chair and appeared very tired.Around 9:30 i helped him get

Dad's Christmas

Dad had a nice Christmas evening. We celebrated the evening with Suzie and Jacob at my house with an hor d'oueveres meal followed by ice cream cake. We unwrapped the gifts. Dad got some slippers, but since I forgot to take out the cardboard inserts, at first he said they were too tight!

On Christmas morning, Dad and I went to Mass, then had a meal at the dining hall. Then we went to my house for a lazy afternoon.

Today we will go to my house to help clean up and make some clam chowder.

Dad did okay this weekend, but last night he got up and spent quite some time snoozing in the easy chair. (I don't think he slept much in his own bed).
